Plastic Show

''Pamela Anderson is a caricature of a woman and I am a f**king caricature of her''.

Sitting in the jam-packed La Chapelle, you just can’t wait to see this surreal woman body. When she finally steps on stage, with slow and gracious moves, you really wonder how it is possible. Indeed:  for almost two hours, you discover the extraordinary body change of Rodney who throughout the years and 60 plastic surgeries became Nina.

‘’[Arsenault] grew up, a little girl inside a little boy’s body, in the Golden Horseshoe Trailer Park in Beamsville, Ontario’’ but the triggering factor takes place in 1979, when she was a 5 year-old boy and saw for the first time the beauty she will later encompass: a feminine mannequin in a Zeller’s store.

Twenty years later, she starts working in the porn video industry. ‘’The other tranny cyber-whores put my flat chest and mannish face to shame, but with two master’s degrees, I knew more adjectives to describe anal rimming, golden showers and forced cross-dressing’’. She works 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and ‘’was saving every cyber-cent and milking BigDaddy10, a doctor and the VP of a major health insurance company’’ to afford her 200 000-dollar-body.

A little less (dirty) talk, a little more action could have been Arsenault’s motto in the 2000’s:  her frantic trip for woman beauty takes her to Mexico and the United States, where she goes through illegal and raw surgery. Along with a friend, she puts up with ‘’18 silicone injections. In each hip. Because this is the most [she]could get at once’’.

And this is not to mention castration, Tommy Lee and bike work-out.

Despite a couple of overlong passages and hesitations is her acting, Arsenault invites you to join her fascinating plastic world, a world where she is an artist and her body a masterpiece. Sometimes odd, sometimes amusing, Arsenault’s account of adventures is always sincere and definitely a must-seen.
